The Festival of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was announced in 2018 by the British government. It would take place in 2022 and celebrate the success of an independent Britain. Stanley Schtinter decided 2022 was too long to wait and appointed himself director.
It happened on October 31 in 2019 at The White Hotel in Salford. For those unable to travel the border was streamed live on facebook (see: The Film Not The Country).

‘With obligatory masks, “social distancing”, quarantine areas and an empty nightclub, Schtinter's Festival of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was an eerily prescient view of the country in light of the global pandemic that arrived shortly afterwards.’
