2023 Last Movies
Last Movies remaps the century of cinema according to the final films watched by some of its cultural icons, giving an audience the opportunity to ‘see what those who see no more last saw’.
Last Movies is a multimedium artwork, film programme and publication (Tenement Press, 2023). Programme notes authored by Erika Balsom can be viewed here. The book can be ordered here in paperback and here in hardback. Last Movies premiered at Light Industry in NYC on 4 November, and has a monthly residency at the ICA in London from 22 November (2023) until 12 March (2024). The programme was developed with the support of Batalha Centro de Cinema, Porto. On March 23 (2024) Last Movies will show for twenty-four hours without pause or repeat at ZDB 8 Marvila, Lisboa.
