2021          Revolutionary List (4) La Biennale di Venezia
La Biennale di Venezia’s history of exhibiting artists is the focus of the fourth Revolutionary List. The List’s reference is a book published by the Biennale in 2019 and withdrawn by the Museos de la Bomba e Soledad in the years 2020-21. It is stored and travels in a Revelation-branded suitcase, with an ex-tourism air-conditioned poster presumed to depict Venice Lagoon.

An accompanying audio recording taken in Venice on the date La Biennale was scheduled to launch, April 23 in 2021, witnesses the composition of the list and the sound of ‘distant pipes’ (names beginning with “A” are published by purge.xxx in a limited physical edition). The work was commissioned by Cedric Fauq for the Governmental Fires exhibition at Futura in Prague, delivered late by arrangement and exhibited only on the final day of the show.

2020          Revolutionary List (3) Glastonbury 50
Glastonbury Festival was established in 1972 and cancelled in 2020. Observing the original dowsing line of Glastonbury’s ‘Pyramid Stage’, an Angel in the employ of the Revolutionary List project celebrates the festival’s absence by reciting the names of each and every act to have performed in the event’s 50 year history (with the exception of the first year when tickets and milk were free), on the time and date 2020’s festival gates would have opened.

2019          Revolutionary List (2) BA 100
The BA 100 are 100 people selected by British Airways* to mark the company’s 100th anniversary. According to BA, these British people ‘represent the values we want to celebrate’. The Revolutionary Lists project exists to resolve problems like the BA 100.

The Revolutionary Lists project sought a Volunteer to intercept this dossier and complete it. The Volunteer received the dossier by arriving at 15:30 on Sunday October 6 in 2019 at the Ankerwycke Yew: the Volunteer approached the person wearing the #deathGeneration baseball cap and requested from them ‘End Times Healing’.

2018          Revolutionary List (1) Tumbrels in The Mall
Armchair, telephone, guillotine, reader. The reader spoke the names of ‘prominent’ cultural figures in Britain who have in the last 21 years accepted an order of the British empire (eg. CH, OBE {Sir, Lady}). A musical accompaniment was provided by five percussionists, each wearing the student capes popularised by the combination of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter book series and Portugal’s fascist past. Rowling was expected to appear as guest of honour. Presented by Museos de la Soledad e Bomba.
